About Living Poetry Press.
Living Poetry Press is an independent publishing imprint dedicated to lyrical nonfiction, hybrid memoir, and culturally rooted storytelling. Founded by writer and creative Jean John-Edo, the press was created as a platform for bold, poetic, and deeply personal work that often sits outside conventional literary categories.
We specialise in work that explores themes of:
Grief, memory, and healing
Identity and diaspora
Queerness and cultural belonging
The intersections of art, language, and emotional truth
Living Poetry Press operates at the intersection of literary publishing and creative independence; prioritising work that is voice-driven, reflective, and emotionally resonant. Our goal is to publish books and projects that feel both intimate and expansive—the kind of work that lingers long after the final page.
We also collaborate across disciplines; with artists, designers, writers, editors, and cultural curators to bring each project to life with intention, beauty, and integrity.
Whether through self-published titles, limited print runs, or digital storytelling, Living Poetry Press champions writing that pushes boundaries and opens conversations.
Current title:
Nobody Prepared Me for This: 4 Deadly Sins — a lyrical nonfiction debut currently in the running for the Kindle Storyteller Award.
